News from Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation-Emek ShalomThis Week at FVJC-Emek Shalom: |

Six months ago, we became very concerned about our budget and cash flow. We have continually provided the congregation with our best forecast at the time with the original projection being that we could loose $60,000. We are certainly not alone in this situation, as are most non-profits feeling this same pain.
During the month of April, we saw our receipts reach almost $1000 per day through congregant payments and in the month of May, through donations from congregants and the Sisterhood we received almost $20,000 in additional general revenue!
With only three weeks left in the fiscal year, ending June 30th, we now are projecting a deficit of less than $30,000 for the year. However, there are still a number of congregants who still owe a portion of their dues amounting to almost $ 40,000. I urge those congregants to “step up” and help us solve this dilemma.
Also, we are a community deeply rooted in Tzedakah, so I do make one more plea for donations through our “Nest Egg Fund during the next three weeks. Let me again thank you all for the opportunity to have been your lay leader these past two years.
Your cooperation and concern have been tremendous. Have a great summer! Daryl
